Sudhir Singh
The year 2023-2024 has been a significant
chapter for the Food Box Foundation, as we
expanded our “End Hunger “ initiative,
launched by a dedicated team in early
2022. With nearly two years of effort and
unwavering community support, we have
made meaningful progress in tackling
hunger and uplifting lives.
Initially focused on food distribution, we
soon realized that addressing hunger alone
was not enough—children also needed
access to education for holistic growth. In
September last year 2023, we began
tutoring a small group of children in a slum
area of Prayagraj. As interest grew, our
program expanded, with over 50 children
attending our sessions. Inspired by their
enthusiasm, we constructed a classroom
to create a nurturing learning environment.
Hope begins with a meal; Transformation
begins with education.
Today, we proudly serve more than 75
children, offering them not just education
but also hope and a sense of community.
Thanks to our team and supporters, we
continue to work towards a brighter future
for these children and their families. Our
journey of impact is far from over.

One man on a mission to feed hungry kids” Sudhir Singh Co-Founder of End Hunger, is an author, blogger, social activist, and Founding Director of Food Box Foundation. He holds a degree in Engineering. When the entire nation was suffering from COVID several families suffered to get their end meal. He volunteered with NGOs spending an entire day providing food and necessities to nearby localities; He helped more than 1000 families with his team to get their meals. He and his brother have dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to pioneer solutions to serve the disadvantaged.
Early in 2021, Sudhir Singh established the idea of a food bank in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He had been volunteering at a food bank struggling to find food to serve kids facing hunger in covid crisis. one day he saw a few kids standing beside the food stall in the assurance that somebody would propose to them some food, a gentleman left unfinished food on his plate and went for handwash. the staff boy picks up the plate and settles it in the dustbin. kids run towards the dustbin to snatch unfinished food. That view crumbled Singh’s heart, and with that, an organization was born.
Sudhir Singh stabilized the first food bank in Prayagraj, as the Prayag’s first food bank. In its initial years, Singh and his team of volunteers distributed 50,000 kg of food to people in need. The word of the food bank’s success quickly spread, and the city began to take note. By the end of the pandemic, many people came forward to help him in his mission and he has fed 60,000+ hungry out of his goal of 100,000 in its first year.
Today, the Food Box Foundation is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization—a powerful and efficient network of several food banks across the country. As food insecurity rates hold steady at the highest levels ever, the Food Box Foundation network of food banks has rise to meet the need.
